Cyrus Monroe Carmack-Belton — Closing arguments scheduled for tomorrow, June 1. Rick Chow did not testify in his own defense. Jury has not yet received the case.

Stephenson King Jr. — Officer Nicholas O'Malley is scheduled to be arraigned today in Suffolk Superior Court on the voluntary manslaughter indictment. The case has moved out of Roxbury Municipal Court following the grand jury indictment on May 20. Body camera footage of the shooting has not been released publicly.
Isaiah Christopher Kirby — East Lansing Police released a narrated 22-minute video of the shooting on May 16, following weeks of pressure from the family and community. The family received unredacted footage the same day but called the narrated version "highly edited." The NAACP identified three decision points where officers chose actions that led to Kirby's death, including exiting their vehicles when he was approximately 100 feet away and not directly approaching them. The East Lansing Independent Police Oversight Commission has found racial bias within the department. After a "less lethal" order was given, officers continued firing. Four officers have been named. The Michigan State Police investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
Aubrey McKay — Significant development this week. The Smyth County Commonwealth's Attorney has recused himself from the case. As of May 27, the Virginia Attorney General's Office has taken over the investigation and prosecution, following Governor Abigail Spanberger's directive in February. Three senior assistant attorneys general have been assigned to investigate and handle any charges. One officer involved in McKay's death has been terminated. No charges have been filed.

Keith Porter Jr. — A new development as of May 27: ICE agent Brian Palacios allegedly threatened the ex-husband of his girlfriend with criminal prosecution after the ex-husband's attorney identified Palacios in custody filings. The Los Angeles Times reviewed an audio recording of the alleged threat. Palacios has not been charged. The case remains under investigation by LAPD.
